Molly is super into the card game Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza! Here she is in action.
We even taped an official “pad” for maximum accuracy and optimal gameplay. 😆

This weblog tracks my kids’ early years. Each entry is a snapshot from their childhood.
Please pardon any type-o’s, misstatements, or factual irregularities. This blog is written by an often dazed dad, normally after 11 pm when he should really be in bed if he had any sense. Even the basic quick edit is not a regular practice here.

Molly and I took new bike (her big Christmas present) out for a spin at the Veloway.
Molly handled her big new bike admirably, though it was a bit of a challenge compared to her old small bike.

And a little footage.
We made it to Houston this year to visit my parents at their retirement home. The whole trip was a bit of a scramble to get out the door, get to Houston just in time for a Harry Potter spinoff play, and finish everyone’s presents in the hotel.
But getting everyone together for a couple of great outdoor picnics (due to Covid) made it all worthwhile.

Molly and I like to get out for some soccer on the weekends. She’s not playing on a team, but she’s pretty good and getting better. She has a powerful kick!
The main game is “freekicks” with me as goalie. 🤷🏻♂️

Molly got me in a mood to goof around on the guitar and make up a song roughly based on Zep’s classic. This kind of goofing around is one of my favorite parts of being a dad. ☺️
Molly has been spending a lot of her down time lately making bracelets. Starting with basic yarn bracelets, she then moved into plastics. Sometimes we even melt plastic beads in the oven to flatten them for just the right shape.
Molly has gotten so good at making her own bracelets that she decided to open her own Etsy shop: Mollys Charms And More. 🤩
After the initial store setup, Molly has been adding her own pictures, updating listings, rallying friends to support her store, and checking her stats.
She’s all over this. 🤓. Way to go, Molly!

Here’s a picture of Claire and Molly at an evening picnic we had the other day.
Check the thoughtful looks on their faces. They must have been having a deep moment. 🤓

It’s beautiful to watch these kids grow into their own people and take on the world in their own way.
Today Claire announced that she was going to be making a sword for her Halloween costume, a character from Demon Slayer. After she put together a list of supplies, and we all made a trip to Michaels.
Back home, Claire spent a few hours making her sword with only little assistance with the spray paint. It came out good but not gerat – version 1.0. She’ll try again next weekend. 🗡
Molly wanted to got running on the park to get back into triathlon form. I grabbed the soccer ball on the way out, and Molly ended up having fun playing soccer. I played goalie, and she tried to score on me. She got noticeably better even as we played! “Football is life,” was our refrain, Dani Rojas style. ⚽️
It was a great fall weekend day with these amazing little people.

Claire got some new glasses recently and was having fun with them over lunch, which made for a cool picture thanks to the weird background widow.
Claire touched up the photo herself to bring out maximum color. 🎨
